Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) in Westborough, MA.
The program provides psychiatric treatment in a locked residential setting for adolescents ages 13–17 referred by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH). The facility consists of two programs serving approximately 15 youth each.
The RN will primarily support clients' medical and psychiatric needs through nursing assessment, medication administration, documentation, and response to behavioral or medical concerns.
Responsibilities
- Administer scheduled and PRN medications according to physician orders and established procedures.
- Perform nursing assessments and monitor clients for changes in physical or behavioral condition.
- Maintain accurate medication and clinical documentation.
- Respond to behavioral emergencies and provide nursing support when required.
- Monitor clients during physical restraints and complete required nursing documentation.
- Contact the psychiatrist or physician on call when clinically appropriate.
- Support laboratory staff with morning lab draws as needed.
- Complete safety rounds, including Signs of Life and Environment of Care checks.
- Maintain and organize medication rooms, supply areas, charts, and clinical paperwork.
- Assist direct-care staff when clients require medical or behavioral assessment.
- Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, clinical services, education, and residential staff.
- Maintain a professional and therapeutic environment for adolescent clients.
