Position: Contracting Advisor
Type: Contract, 6-Month Duration (with possibility of extension/conversion)
Location: Malvern, PA 19355 Hybrid (Onsite 3 days per week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
About the Opportunity:
One of our clients is seeking an experienced Contracting Advisor to support procurement and supplier contracting activities. This role will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements with third-party suppliers while collaborating closely with legal counsel, procurement teams, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess strong contract negotiation skills, a solid understanding of commercial and legal terms, and the ability to communicate contractual obligations and risks effectively to business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a variety of procurement and supplier contracts.
- Partner with legal counsel and business stakeholders to ensure contracts align with organizational requirements and risk tolerance.
- Interpret contract language and communicate key commercial and legal terms, obligations, and risks in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify and escalate potential risks related to information security, intellectual property, privacy, insurance, and financial exposure.
- Lead commercial contract negotiations and facilitate timely contract execution.
- Follow established contracting policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Information Security, Privacy, Insurance, Procurement, and Business Units.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control, and documentation throughout the contracting lifecycle.
- Support special projects and other contracting-related initiatives as needed.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in commercial contracting, procurement contracting, or a related legal/contracts environment.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of contractual terms, legal concepts, and risk management principles.
- Ability to independently lead contract negotiations and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex contract terms in business-friendly language.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams, procurement professionals, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, or vendor management functions.
- Familiarity with information security, privacy, intellectual property, and insurance-related contract provisions.
- Experience working within large corporate or financial services environments is a plus.
