About the Position
IMCO is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of large civil projects in the Boise area with limited travel to other IMCO offices and projects as needed.
The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Manager and the project team to support planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities. This role focuses on project controls, cost tracking, scheduling support, subcontractor coordination, documentation management, and collaboration with field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements and IMCO standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Promote and reinforce IMCO’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture across all phases of the project.
- Support the Project Management team in developing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and administrative procedures.
- Serve as a day-to-day support resource for field supervision and project engineering staff.
- Assist with project cost control, forecasting, and revenue tracking using IMCO’s project management systems.
- Track committed costs, change events, and potential project exposures.
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule and monitoring progress against milestones.
- Support procurement activities, including scope development, subcontract drafting, purchase orders, and buyout efforts.
- Assist with subcontractor onboarding, coordination, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Identify scope changes and assist with pricing, documentation, and change order development.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
- Review vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications for accuracy and contract compliance.
- Participate in meetings with owners, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Prepare written reports, correspondence, and project documentation.
- Perform duties typically assigned to a Project Engineer and assist in mentoring junior staff.
- Independently manage smaller project scopes under limited Project Manager oversight.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 anticipated annual salary, depending on experience

Location & commitments
- Primary Project Location: Treasure Valley, Idaho
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to IMCO’s corporate office and other project locations as business needs require
Requirements and Qualifications
We are seeking a construction professional who is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of supporting complex construction projects while building strong working relationships.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of construction management experience, preferably on commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience in an active construction environment
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of project engineering, estimating, scheduling, and project controls
- Proficiency with construction-related software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera (or similar scheduling software), Viewpoint, HCSS, or comparable platforms
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with owners, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal teams
- Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships while representing IMCO’s values
- Willingness to travel as the project requires
- Pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check required
