IMC Companies is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our St. Louis team in a hybrid Customer Service and Driver Hiring/Operations role.
This position is ideal for someone who is professionally polished, highly organized, and people-focused, but also comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on trucking environment and building strong relationships with drivers.
This is not a remote position.
What You’ll Do
Customer Service & Operations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and chat
- Provide accurate, timely information on orders, pricing, and service updates
- Coordinate with dispatch and internal teams to meet customer needs
- Track and trace shipments, ensuring timely delivery and proactive communication
- Prepare reports and provide documentation to customers as needed
- Enter and manage data across multiple systems
- Identify opportunities to improve service and operational efficiency
Driver Hiring & Support:
- Recruit, screen, and onboard Owner Operators and Company Drivers
- Conduct driver orientations (ELDs, dispatch systems, safety procedures, pay structure, etc.)
- Coordinate road tests and onboarding logistics
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for drivers—answering questions and supporting their success
- Promote IMC to prospective drivers and support recruiting efforts
- Manage driver gear and assist with onboard technology setup
Safety & Compliance:
- Support driver safety training and ongoing instruction
- Monitor driver logs and respond to audit reports
- Assist with accident/incident investigations and reporting
- Coordinate drug and alcohol testing compliance
- Support fleet compliance, inspections, and maintenance coordination
- Assist with installation and management of onboard systems (ELDs, dash cams)
What We’re Looking For:
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply—we are fully willing to train the right person
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels—from customers to drivers to internal teams
- Professional demeanor with the ability to build rapport in a blue-collar environment
- Highly organized with strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- Ability to work both in an office setting and around trucks/equipment as needed
- Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting salary: $50,000 (based on experience)
