What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator position at IMC Companies LLC?
Work Schedule Comments: Monday through Friday, typically 8am-5pm
Position Overview: The Safety Coordinator for the Newark Terminal should possess the basic skills and knowledge to perform depot, essential safety, and compliance functions with the ability to work independently to accomplish tasks. The ideal candidate has intermodal transportation experience, strong driver recruiting skills, and working knowledge of Samsara and Tenstreet. This individual understands Hours of Service requirements, supports safety and compliance efforts, and can effectively coach drivers to improve performance, maintain compliance, and promote safe operating practices.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct new driver orientation classes (explanation of pay, fuel card, gate card and terminal facilities)
- Process qualified Owner Operators and Company Drivers in Tenstreet hiring platform
- Accept applications and screen driver applicants (pre-qualify)
- Communicate and report applicant and new hire information to IMCC
- Coordinate road tests for Limited Experience Driver program
- Assist with all aspects of safety compliance in region
- Employee first report of injury contact for region
- Responsible for ongoing and corrective action driver instruction and training
- Respond to and investigate local IMC accidents/incidents and report to claims services
- IMC random drug/alcohol test notices
- Supervise maintenance, repair, and driver inspection reports for company truck fleet
- Support and attend annual Driver Safety Banquets and Driver appreciation events
- Manage supply levels for driver gear (Safety vests, gauges, ELDs, cords, placards, numbers for trucks)
- Install onboard dash cameras and Electronic Log Devices
- New driver ELD training
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills:
- Ability to conduct CMV driver safety and operations instruction and training
- Ability and desire to promote IMC to potential CMV drivers
- Ability to work in modern office with skills including, scanning, MS Office suite, using 3rd party web programs, picture transfer/uploading
- Ability to operate small hand held tools and climb into a class 8 tractor trailer
$50-55k salary range based on experience
