POSITION SCOPE: The Exhibition Docent's primary responsibility is to help enhance guest service in the exhibition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Greet all guests in the exhibit or retail space.
- Answer all questions and be knowledgeable about our exhibition and product categories.
- Promote all company products and experiences.
- Ring up sales and operate POS systems accurately and per company standards.
- Process returns and/or exchanges as necessary.
- Stock and maintain shelves, rack cards, ticket stock, and offers.
- 100% adherence to the checklist system.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure a neat and presentable exhibition, store and ticketing area that meets and exceeds guest's expectations.
- Work in character when working within the exhibition.
- Regularly communicate with the leadership on any outstanding issues, concerns, or guest needs
- Assist with inventory processes for receiving/shipments, damages, and transfers, etc. as
- per company standards.
- Assist in training new staff/team members.
- Always ensure world class customer service standards, 100% customer greeting, suggestive selling, etc.
- Knowledge in cash handling procedures.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure.
- Any other duties consistent with this job description as may be "reasonably" requested by management.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 1-2 years' experience working in guest services, retail, or live entertainment sales.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent customer service.
- Organized and punctual.
- Adept selling skills.
- Capable operations of basic POS and software programs.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical, mental, and environmental demands include a loud, fast paced environment which requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and reaching through the shift
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Clear, easy to understand oral communication ability.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally for the purposes of moving equipment on and off shelves.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Capability to read, write, and understand English.
- Skilled in the use computer and office equipment.
- Proficient in activities requiring manual dexterity of both hands.
- Primarily an onsite position.
