Wound care nurse duties and responsibilities

Weekly measurement, assessment and documentation of current wounds.

Measurement, assessment and obtaining orders for newly acquired wounds in facility or on admission.

Updating treatment orders to accommodate wound changes.

Updating weekly report with new measurements and interventions to be sent to cooperate, admin and physicians.

Updating care plans and providing interventions in the treatment and prevention of pressure injury/wounds.

Collaborating with wound doctor and wound care consultant to establish orders and obtain wound care supplies.

Ordering of wound care supplies.

Providing education to residents and staff on wound care and the prevention of wounds.

Obtaining lab as necessary.

Obtaining and implementing of interventions such as LAL mattress, ROHO cushion etc.

Overseeing pharmaceutical and nutritional supplementation.

Taking on call one day per week and one weekend per month.
Must have RN or LPN License
