Image Plus Printing & Design is seeking an experienced Digital Print and Wide Format Operator to join our production team.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Mutoh wide-format printers, Xerox digital color production printers, and Fiery Command WorkStation. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment while ensuring accurate, high-quality output.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Mutoh wide-format printers and Xerox digital color production printers.
- Process and manage print jobs through Fiery Command WorkStation and related RIP software.
- Review job tickets, files, quantities, substrates, colors, and finishing instructions before production.
- Load paper, vinyl, banner material, and other print media.
- Adjust printer settings for size, positioning, color, resolution, and substrate type.
- Monitor print quality, registration, color consistency, and job accuracy throughout production.
- Perform basic color adjustments, calibrations, and test prints as needed.
- Inspect completed work against job specifications and approved proofs.
- Troubleshoot common file, RIP, printer, toner, ink, and media-related issues.
- Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and operator-level equipment care.
- Track completed quantities, material usage, spoilage, and reprints.
- Keep equipment and production areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist with finishing, packaging, and other production duties as needed.
Bindery and Finishing
Bindery experience is helpful, but not required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial printing, digital printing, wide-format printing, or sign production.
- Experience operating Mutoh wide-format equipment is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Xerox digital color production printers is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Fiery Command WorkStation or similar RIP software.
- Understanding of job tickets, bleeds, crop marks, sizing, color requirements, and print substrates.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet production deadlines.
- Dependable attendance and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
