Knoxville area company needs a commodities manager with experience working in the plastics or chemical industry. Please have experience buying resins, titanium dioxide, carbon black, or additives for plastics. You will be responsible for purchasing raw materials, indirect materials, MRO, machinery, and services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supplier and commodity strategies
- Negotiate contracts and lead supplier performance improvements
- Conduct market analysis and communicate cost drivers and trends
- Maintain accurate supplier records and pricing history
- Lead supplier audits, cost improvement workshops, and corrective actions
- Support budgeting, costing, and procurement KPIs
- This position will involve some travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar
Required Skills
- Five years of purchasing experience, plus recent experience as a commodities manager
- Excellent knowledge of global supply chains
- Ability to evaluate vendors for timely delivery and quality products
- Strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong supplier partnerships.
