Join My Team! – Support Worker Needed in Attleborough, Norfolk
Current vacancy
We are looking for a part-time support worker to join our team working with our client in her home, in Attleborough, Norfolk. The role is for 13 hours per week with flexibility to also cover overnight and staff annual leave. Shifts and availability will be discussed at interview. Typical shifts are 8am-9pm, 8am-4.30 pm and 4.30pm-9pm and overnights are 9pm-8am.
About Our Client
She is a 30-year-old lady who is happy, sociable with a great sense of humour. She enjoys basketball and football in the garden, puzzles, games, preparing her meals, dancing to music, swimming, and going on adventures in the community or on holiday. She also loves spending time with her family and friends. She lives at home in an annexe attached to the main house with her parents and two small dogs.
She has an acquired brain injury and is a wheelchair user and also uses a walking frame to get around and has a therapeutic support plan in place. She requires a rest in the afternoon to recharge. We are looking for a confident, compassionate, caring, and positive person with good communication skills and able to make decisions and use your initiative as you will be working on your own.

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.

You’ll Be Helping With
The Role and Responsibilities of the job:
- Supporting the development of independence with all activities
- Daily exercises to support her activity programme including rehabilitation and hydrotherapy
- Deliver personal care tailored to her individual needs
- Assisting with her mobility, using moving and handling techniques and equipment safely (eg wheelchair, standing frame, bike etc)
- Transporting our client in her own adapted Motability vehicle
- Promoting purposeful, structured time both at home and out in the community
- Assisting/supporting with medication administration
- Maintain accurate digital/paper records
Job Details
- Location: Attleborough, Norfolk
- Hours: 13 hours per week (rota-based, flexible)
- Start Date: ASAP (after pre-employment checks)
- Interviews: As applications come in
- Weekdays: £14.31 per hour
- Weekends: £16.25 per hour
- Sleeping Nights: National Living Wage currently £12.21 per hour
- 5.6 weeks annual leave per annum (pro-rata)
- 2 weeks employer’s sick pay after probation
- Ongoing training and support (including the Care Certificate)
- Free DBS Check
- Full induction
- Regular supervision and support from Team Leader, Parents, Case Manager & HR team
- Genuine compassion, patience and respect for choice and dignity
- Experience supporting adults with complex emotional, behavioural, and attachment needs
- Reliability, punctuality and strong professional boundaries
- Confident in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
- Teamwork and lone-working confidence; follows instructions, and uses initiative
- Confident in water
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience of working with adults with special needs
- Experience of carrying out therapy programmes
- Ability to work additional hours, sometimes at short notice

About You
It would be great to receive your application, if you have the following skills/behaviours:
- *Female due to providing personal care
- Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
- Experience with working with Acquired Brain Injury
- Confident and comfortable working in Jane’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of her and her family
