Sanitation Supervisor, Food Manufacturing

3rd shift, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Flexibility for periodic shift rotation required.
Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 per year
This Sanitation Supervisor role supports compliance with state, federal, and government regulations for food production and storage by overseeing cleaning and sanitizing of production, packaging, storage areas, and equipment at a USDA food manufacturing plant. The company is a food manufacturer that is part of a larger portfolio of brands, with growth underway across the organization. This position may carry sanitation responsibility across multiple buildings on site.
The Sanitation Supervisor plans and coordinates daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning schedules are met, manages the sanitation process to ensure equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected, and follows all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures. This role maintains active working knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures, ensures sanitizing chemicals, safety equipment, power equipment, and manual tools are used correctly and safely, and utilizes Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) across the plant. The supervisor adheres to and applies Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), informs management of departmental issues, and participates in job specific training as part of ongoing personal development.

Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing plant, including sanitation supervisory experience
- Knowledge of HACCP, microbiology, sanitation, chemical safety, pest control, and GFSI standards
- Understanding of and compliance with government regulations relating to OSHA, FDA, USDA, and EPA
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to develop work instructions and documentation
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Flexibility in work schedule, including periodic shift rotation
- B.S. in a science field, or Certified Sanitarian designation
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Leadership and training experience
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks to meet deadlines
