Illuminate is a growing, client-focused, full-service training and development firm specializing in delivery of innovative clinical sales training solutions for clients in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.


Position Description

Illuminate’s clients are learning professionals in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotech device industries. Illuminate publishes engaging training for sales learning audiences.

The Digital Designer will apply strong visual design, motion design, and digital product design skills to create high-impact learning and marketing experiences. This role expands on traditional graphic design responsibilities to include digital, motion, and UI/UX design, requiring fluency across modern design and video tools. The Digital Designer will work in a customer-centric, business-driven environment while maintaining exceptional quality, clarity, and visual polish.


A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team; collaboration with Illuminate project managers, other graphic designers, technology colleagues, partners, and clients is critical to this role.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create original visual media that communicates the desired feeling or message in an engaging and unified way
  • Choose graphics, clip art, and stock photography, as appropriate
  • Design digital experiences including UI layouts, screens, and interactive elements for web-based, LMS, and learning platforms
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design intent and user flows
  • Apply UI/UX best practices, including hierarchy, accessibility, responsiveness, and usability
  • Collaborate with learning technology and development teams to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
  • Create and edit motion graphics and video content to support learning experiences, presentations, and digital products
  • Edit video content, including cutting footage, adding motion graphics, titles, transitions, and audio cleanup
  • Design UI animations, interactions, and visual transitions for digital experiences
  • Effectively design, format and edit impactful learning content in PowerPoint slides and notes
  • Format and edit learning content and leader’s guides in Word
  • Utilize prescribed storyboard and other templates
  • Review, edit, insert, and format text, graphics, or other materials created by writers and designers
  • Submit or upload final files for printing or online publishing
  • Interact and collaborate effectively with Illuminate colleagues and partners to best meet the design needs of the client, according to their requirements
  • Ask clarifying questions to assess the necessary components of the design to meet the needs of the client
  • Respond in a timely and helpful manner to all requests
  • Maintain knowledge of design trends relating to applicable programs and technologies

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, or related disciplines
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in formatting and graphic design of business solutions
  • High level of skill and proficiency in:

-   Figma (advanced prototyping and design systems)

-   Adobe After Effects (motion graphics, UI animation, visual effects)

-   Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing and post-production)

-   Adobe Animate (2D animation, explainer videos, interactive motion)

-   Blender (3D animation, rendering, and advanced motion graphics)

-   UI/UX & Prototyping Tools (experience with one or more)

-   Sketch Adobe XD

-   Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word

  • Strong ability to work with others to successfully deliver content design
  • Knowledge of type Styles in Word and size and layout patterns
  • Proficient with mobile technology
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
