Building Service Supervisor- Public Functions Facilities & Services

Duties & Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for campus departments, student organizations, and external groups requesting event services, including furniture rental and event infrastructure setup.
• Coordinate all phases of event setup, including creating work orders, preparing cost estimates, issuing service requests to crafts/trades and Moving Crew/Public Functions staff, and ensuring services are scheduled appropriately.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates Building Service Workers assigned to Moving Crew/Public Functions. Manages staffing levels, approves time reports, tracks vacation/sick leave, completes performance evaluations, and ensures all work assignments are up to standard. Monitors operational needs and ensures adequate coverage, including managing overtime as required.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with building occupants and other stakeholders through daily personal contact; addresses concerns and service needs to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintains accurate records related to staffing, work assignments, and operational performance; generates reports as required.
• Track and maintain Public Functions inventory; coordinate the replacement or purchase of new equipment in collaboration with Purchasing and vendors.
• Respond to customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Assists in the development and implementation of new initiatives, continuously improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain strong working relationships with university departments, vendors, and campus agencies to support event success.
• Perform related duties as assigned to support event logistics, equipment management, and customer satisfaction.
