Position Overview

The Corrections Clerk II assigned to the Pontiac Correctional Center Records Office is responsible for monitoring assignment capacities, inputting cell status changes and holding call lines, as well as preparing the daily bed availability report. Pontiac Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve in the role. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors individual in custody assignment capacities.
  • Inputs cell status changes on O360.
  • Prepares the daily bed availability report confirming that the Warden and Central Office receives a copy of the report by 8:30am.
  • Holds individual in custody call lines.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience monitoring and processing individual in custody assignments.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience monitoring and processing vote sheets.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience inputting data into Offender 360.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience meeting with individuals in custody regarding placement.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience prioritizing work assignments.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of working experience utilizing office methods and procedures.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held, is prohibited.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
  • Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six (6) months of employment.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
