Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bloomington, IL. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall maintenance of university facilities. Daily tasks include cleaning and disinfecting classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas. Additional duties involve trash removal, restocking supplies, floor care, light maintenance, and ensuring safety by identifying hazards. The role requires collaboration with the facilities team to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and floor scrubbers
- Basic understanding of maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and unclogging drains
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
