    Function / Position Summary

    Processes journal entries and transactions in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner to prepare financial reports for multiple funds and programs. Assists district department personnel, conducts routine account analyses, and prepares financial reports to support state claims and other needs. Highly detail-oriented when managing complex accounting tasks.

    Job Duties / Responsibilities

    • Complete monthly journal entries for financial statements.
    • Prepare monthly financial statements for Board of Education.
    • Assist the auditors and Financial Comptroller with annual fiscal audit.
    • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
    • Assist various departments with financial data for state claims.
    • Process all Accounts Payable and Payroll cancelled checks imaging requests.
    • Reconcile all district monthly bank statements.
    • Journalize daily banking disbursements.
    • Work closely with the Executive Director of Finance on fiscal duties relating to debt.
    • Responsible for processing wire requests for Financial Services.
    • Maintain the cash analysis spreadsheet.
    • Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.

    Experience / Knowledge

    • Five or more years of financial experience in the public sector, school district experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under strict deadlines.
    • Outstanding professional ethics.
    • Excellent interpersonal and strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving aptitude.
    • Hands-on orientation, strong organizational skills, and an extremely strong attention to detail are skills essential to ensure accuracy.
    • Display responsible and professional leadership.
    • Ability to manage multiple business priorities and projects.
    • Ability to set goals and establish methods for achieving them.
    • Strong ability to provide a very high level of customer service.
    • Able to accept rapid changes and interruptions on a daily basis.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
    • Able to handle sensitive employee data and maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or Skyward software preferred.

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to work on a computer over a major portion of the work day.

    Terms of Employment

    • This is a 12-month position. Salary and benefits are as established by the Board of Education.
    • Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. The salary range for this position is $60,243.00 - $90,353.00. Our typical practice is to hire in between the minimum and midpoint ($75,298.00).
