Duties
- Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support physicians and nurse practioners with clinical tasks.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient information, including demographics, insurance information, and personal health information.
- Conduct basic physiology assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating smooth patient flow.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; current certification is preferred. Non-certified individuals will be considered based on experience.
- Prior experience working in cardiology or similar medicine settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medications.
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions such as scheduling and documentation. Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred.
- Ability to perform clinical skills including vital signs collection, and basic life support certification (BLS).
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care in outpatient or inpatient environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
