About the Role
illi is seeking a Property Management Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations for our managed commercial real estate portfolio. This individual will oversee and mentor a team of Property Accountants and manage A/P and A/R processes to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong property management accounting experience, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role is critical to supporting operational teams and delivering financial transparency to our clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for all managed properties

Review and approve invoices, owner distributions, tenant billings, CAM reconciliations, and budgets

Ensure accurate coding, approvals, and processing of A/P & A/R transactions

Partner with Property Management leadership on budget planning, variance analysis, and forecasting

Ensure compliance and identify opportunities to improve internal controls and accounting policies

Support onboarding and accounting transitions for new property acquisitions or dispositions

Collaborate with external auditors or client representatives during audits, maintain audit-ready schedules and documentation
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum of 5 years of commercial property accounting experience, including team supervision

Proficiency in GAAP and lease accounting practices specific to real estate

Expertise with accounting platforms such as Yardi, Appfolio (preferred), Google Sheets, and Excel

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

In-depth knowledge of lease structures and CAM reconciliation processes
All final candidates will be required to complete a bookkeeping proficiency assessment to evaluate technical accuracy and financial acumen.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
