About the Role: Ilion True Value Hardware is seeking a dependable, hands-on Store Manager or Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations in our locally owned, community-focused hardware store. This is an active role for someone who enjoys working with customers, supporting a small team, and taking ownership of store performance.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily store operations
Provide excellent customer service and product support
Train, motivate, and support staff
Receive, price, and stock merchandise
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store
Assist with inventory accuracy and sales goals
Communicate promotions to staff and customers
Support local community events and store initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience (retail or supervisory experience preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work independently
Reliable, trustworthy, and community-oriented
Comfortable in a hands-on environment
Must pass a background check (NYS/federal compliant)
Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Must be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends
Compensation: The position offers a starting pay of $15.50 during a probationary period of at least three months. Following successful completion of the probationary period, pay will be reviewed and may be adjusted based on demonstrated skills, performance, and responsibilities. Additional benefits may also be available.
