About The Role
As the education platform lead, you will be responsible for developing our online platform, currently under construction, that hosts the teaching materials of the Iliad Intensive, a course delivered to more than 40 promising students per monthly in-person iteration. We want the materials to develop into an accessible online resource that facilitates both use by people all across the world and an enhanced teaching experience for the in-person cohorts. About The Role
As the education platform lead, you will be responsible for developing our online platform, currently under construction, that hosts the teaching materials of the Iliad Intensive, a course delivered to more than 40 promising students per monthly in-person iteration. We want the materials to develop into an accessible online resource that facilitates both use by people all across the world and an enhanced teaching experience for the in-person cohorts. Your responsibilities include:
- Web development of the platform
- A unification of the look and feel of all modules to ensure a coherent experience
- Implementation of various functions that aid self-study, like sign-up and progress tracking
- Close collaboration with a rotating group of part-time content creators to elicit materials that are up to the standards of the platform
- Close collaboration with a rotating group of part-time teachers to ensure the platform serves as a functional part of the in-person classes
- Writing and teaching of your own materials
What We’re Looking For
At a minimum, we are looking for someone with:
- A demonstrated and strong sense of design and pedagogy
- Mathematical maturity; for example, a university degree in a theoretical subject like mathematics, physics, or theoretical computer science.
- Deep care for the effective learning of both in-person and online students
- Ability to effectively coordinate with other staff, including writers, to reach our goals
- The necessary coding skills to develop the platform
- Knowledge of the AI alignment field at roughly the level of the Iliad Intensive for at least some of its modules
