Position Description:
The Vegetative Technician is responsible for supporting daily plant care activities during the vegetative stage of growth. This position assists with maintaining healthy plant development through watering, transplanting, pruning, sanitation, and other cultivation activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to work effectively in a team environment while following established cultivation procedures.
- Follow all company safety procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with daily vegetative plant care activities, including watering, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, and plant maintenance.
- Support the monitoring of plant health and notify leadership of any concerns regarding plant growth, pests, diseases, or deficiencies.
- Assist in maintaining proper environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, lighting schedules, and airflow.
- Follow nutrient and irrigation schedules under the direction of cultivation leadership.
- Assist with operating irrigation systems and hand-watering plants as directed.
- Support plant movement, spacing, and organization within vegetative rooms.
- Complete plant labeling, tagging, and tracking activities accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cultivation areas according to company standards.
- Learn and perform specialized cultivation tasks, including clone care, mother plant care, hand watering, and room monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding daily tasks and production goals.
- Adapt to changing priorities and schedules as needed.
- Follow all company security procedures and operational requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn cultivation techniques and best practices.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Must remain compliant with all company policies and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse operations, landscaping, manufacturing, or cannabis cultivation.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Coursework or interest in horticulture, plant science, agriculture, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a controlled indoor cultivation environment.
- Capability to perform physical labor while maintaining attention to detail and productivity standards.
