Mathematics Teacher (Middle School)
Starting Salary $66,500, $2,000 Tested Subject, $3,000 Advanced Degree, $200 per year, related experience
Summary:Under the general supervision of the School Director, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Masters preferred)
- New Jersey Certification (CE,CEAS) with subject matter specialization: Mathematics
- Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the use of various technological software and equipment for tasks such as, but not limited to, word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
- Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters.
- Knowledge of child growth and development, individual differences in ability, personality and interests and learning/motivational techniques. Knowledge of middle school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of grade specific school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; parents, students and faculty etc.
- Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
- Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person’s offense.
- Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
- Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.

The Mathematics teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering middle school math curriculum aligned with district goals and iLearn Schools' vision. The role involves equipping students with math content and practical skills, fostering a positive learning environment, and assessing student progress to meet individual needs. This position also requires maintaining records, communicating with parents, managing student conduct, and collaborating with staff to ensure a comprehensive educational experience. Additional duties include supervising out-of-classroom activities and administering standardized tests.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Experience: Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Qualifications Profile
- For grades 4 & 5, NJ Certification (K - 6) with a Background and/or Strong Desire to teach Mathematics. For grades 6-8, must hold a NJ Certification with Subject Matter Specialization: Mathematics or Teacher of Mathematics
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Familiar with robotics tools, and necessary computer software and platforms to teach programming, physical computing, and engineering design.
Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
