Hofmann has an immediate long-term contract opening for a Prep/ Line Cook in JFK, NY for a First-Class Lounge. Our client provides a variety of food services to Airlines around the world. Over 1,5 million meals a day are served by our clients to Airlines and its passengers. Currently we are looking for customer service staff at an Airport Lounge within JFK Airport. *It is important that our ideal candidate is flexible for any shifts.Benefits Include:Starting Pay of $25.04 per hourMedical, Dental, VisionPaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick)Responsibilities:Set up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, slicing, or preparing sauces)Cook buffet items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffAnswer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructionsClean up station and take care of leftover foodStock inventory appropriatelyEnsure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customersJob Requirements of a Prep/ Line Cook:Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cookExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksFamiliar with industry's best practicesExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAbility to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptionsPrioritize and delegate tasks in a timely mannerMaintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate teamKnowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principlesConformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behaviorAbility to work as a member of a team whose goal is to make all customers experience enjoyableREQUIRED Education:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)REQUIRED Experience:Equivalent professional experienceQualifications:Degree in Culinary ArtsMinimum Essential Functions:Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the timeThe person in this position will be required to move about the kitchen area from station to station.Must be able to distinguish between flavors when creating dishes.
