Job Overview
A Tribal Youth Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that promote the development and well-being of tribal youth. This role emphasizes education, cultural preservation, and social-emotional growth. The manager collaborates with staff, community partners, and tribal leadership to ensure that the programs align with tribal values and effectively meet the needs of the community.
Duties
- Maintaining a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
- Networking and building relationships with collaborative partners.
- Preparing accurate records and reports on the goals of the planned projects.
- Developing flyers and surveys.
- Creating activities for local communities.
- Develop, design, and implement programs that meet the needs of tribal youth, including after-school programs, summer camps, educational initiatives, and cultural activities.
- Oversee and supervise program staff, providing training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, tribal leaders, schools, and other relevant organizations.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for program staff.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of program participants.
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver’s license required.
- Degree in a related field such as social work, education, human development, or youth development.
- Years of experience working with youth, especially tribal youth, is typically required.
- Must be a self-motivated individual with good planning and organization skills.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and randomized drug testing.
