Job Summary
As a Building Material Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of heavy building materials (such as lumber, drywall, roofing, and concrete). You will use a forklift and manual labor to load and unload delivery trucks, organize inventory, and assist customers with picking up their orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Machinery: Safely drive and operate a forklift to move heavy building materials around the warehouse and lumber yard.
- Load & Unload: Efficiently load delivery trucks for outbound shipments and unload incoming vendor deliveries.
- Order Fulfillment: Pull and prepare materials for customer orders and outbound deliveries accurately.
- Inventory Control: Assist with counting inventory and ensuring materials are stored safely and in their proper locations.
- Customer Service: Assist customers in the yard with loading materials into their vehicles.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Forklift Experience: Proven experience driving a forklift is required. (Forklift certification is a major plus, but we can recertify the right candidate).
- Language Skills: Basic English is required. You must be able to read order tickets, understand safety warnings, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Physical Ability: Ability to consistently lift, push, and pull heavy building materials (up to 25–95 lbs) throughout your shift.
- Experience: Prior experience working in a warehouse, lumber yard, or construction environment is preferred.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a focus on safety.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
