Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to an individual with severe autism. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our client by offering personalized care and support in their daily activities. This job requires the caregiver to be available Monday through Friday from 7am -3pm during the summer months and during non-school days
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to client in their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being both indoors and out.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information confidentially.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
Skills
- Strong ability in patient monitoring to ensure the well-being of clients.
- 3-4 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, non-verbal and autism is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques is beneficial for emergency situations.
- Compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
- Ability to transition individual from one activity to another without incident.
- Proficient in basic cooking skills to prepare meals that meet clients' dietary requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with family to maintain schedules and rules
- Reliability and great work ethic are a must.
