General Description
This position shall report directly to the Engineered Systems Engineering Manager (ESEM) and will be responsible for supporting the Special Projects Department by assisting with the creation of non-standard igus systems, parts, project documentation, and review.

This position shall report directly to the Engineered Systems Engineering Manager (ESEM) and will be responsible for supporting the Special Projects Department by assisting with the creation of non-standard igus systems, parts, project documentation, and review.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the workflow and documentation of the department based on standard procedures and make recommendations for improvements where applicable.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of project proposals.
- Design new parts and modify standard igus part designs as appropriate for the application.
- Ensure design standards are implemented and adhered to for all Projects Department designs.
- Liaison with other departments within igus Inc. for matters involving the Projects Department.
- Liaison with the warehouse to support project builds.
- Perform quality checks for custom parts received from domestic vendors.
- Build prototypes and perform testing as required.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to wear safety equipment such as eye protection and steel toed shoes as required for some warehouse builds.
- Undergraduate student in a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering program.
- Problem solving, attention to detail, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic proficiency with computer aided design software such as AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks/Inventor (3D).
