As an Application Engineer at Igus Inc., you will play a critical role in managing automation projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, designing and building machines, and overseeing in-house automation projects. Responsibilities
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct in-depth feasibility studies to assess the viability of automation projects. Analyze customer requirements, technical challenges, and cost considerations to determine project feasibility.
- Project Management: Lead automation projects from concept to delivery. Define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and sales, to ensure successful project execution.
- Machine Design: Design and engineer automation machines, including selecting appropriate components, specifying materials, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Prototyping: Build prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts and performance. Iterate designs based on test results and customer feedback.
- In-House Automation Projects: Oversee and manage internal automation projects aimed at improving efficiency and productivity within the company.
- Tradeshow Machines: Create captivating and functional tradeshow machines that showcase Igus Inc.'s automation solutions to potential customers and industry partners.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding automation projects, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing automation projects, from concept to completion.
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies, robotics, and machine design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and automation programming languages.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for tradeshows and customer visits.
