Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping & Logistics Lead who will also handle key customer service functions. This hybrid role involves overseeing daily shipping operations, managing logistics workflows, and serving as a point of contact for customer inquiries related to orders, tracking, and delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced in both logistics coordination and client communication.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Logistics & Shipping:
• Lead and coordinate all shipping activities, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment
• Manage relationships with freight carriers and negotiate competitive shipping rates
• Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms, packing slips)
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delivery issues or delays
• Maintain shipping schedules and update internal systems with accurate tracking and order status
Customer Service:
• Respond to customer inquiries related to orders, delivery timelines, and shipment status
• Provide professional, timely assistance via phone, email, or chat
• Resolve order discrepancies, damages, or delivery complaints efficiently and empathetically
• Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Maintain accurate customer records and order documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Five years of experience in shipping/logistics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and freight regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft office and experience with logistics, ERP, or CRM software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication, listening, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently, while still working as a part of a team.
• Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Must be able to work in our Detroit HQ from 7-3:30, Monday-Friday.
