Position Summary
The Digital Media Designer supports IFPTI in advancing its mission to build competency-based, high-impact training and communication materials for food safety professionals and partners across the farm-to-fork system. This position focuses on creating visually engaging digital content — including videos, animations, and graphics — that support learning, communication, and engagement across IFPTI programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate is imaginative, forward-thinking, and passionate about using visual storytelling to make complex ideas accessible and compelling.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Produce Digital Media
Create visually engaging content such as animations, videos, and digital graphics to support training, communication, and outreach efforts.
Transform Complex Information into Visual Narratives
Translate regulatory, scientific, or technical content into clear, compelling visual stories that enhance understanding and engagement.
Collaborate Across Team
Work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure all creative assets align with learning and communication objectives.
Maintain Brand and Quality Standards
Ensure consistency, accessibility, and professionalism across all visual materials while adhering to IFPTI branding guidelines.
Innovate and Evolve Visual Strategies
Explore emerging design trends and technologies to continuously improve the effectiveness, creativity, and impact of IFPTI’s digital media.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in digital media, graphic design, communication, instructional technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–4 years of experience in digital media production, motion design, or visual communication.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, originality, and the ability to communicate through design and motion.
• Proven ability to transform complex or technical information into engaging visual content.
• Understanding of adult learning principles, communication strategy, and digital media best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong grasp of composition, color, typography, and storytelling.

Physical Factors/Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed virtually with standard office equipment available. Employee will need to provide a dedicated private workspace including the high-speed internet. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing, walking, and light lifting. Included is exposure to a wide range of travel conditions (walking, lifting, driving, riding in vehicles, hotel stays, weather conditions).
