Where You’ll Make a Difference
- Execute lab‑scale fermentation experiments (14L scale) to support manufacturing operations.
- Prepare media and buffers following established SOPs.
- Perform inoculations and aseptic handling of microorganisms.
- Operate and monitor fermentation equipment using a SCADA system.
- Process samples for near‑line analysis.
- Troubleshoot equipment or operational deviations and escalate issues appropriately.
- Clean, maintain, and assemble bioreactors and auxiliary lab equipment.
- Document results accurately and note unusual occurrences.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times.
- BS/BA in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical/Biological Engineering, or related physical science; OR Associate degree with relevant lab/manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
- Ability to communicate deviations or equipment issues promptly.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and complete a respirator fit test.
- Willing and able to work Friday–Monday shift (6:30 am–4:30 pm).
- Comfortable working in continuously operating 24/7 lab environments.
- 2 years of microbiology, cell culture, bench‑scale lab, or commercial brewing experience.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique, buffers, and media prep.
- Mechanical aptitude and awareness of working with chemicals/hazardous operations.
