Job Summary
Employees in positions at this level of the series support achievement of plant
objectives through maintaining manufacturing or packaging equipment at
required operating levels by adjusting or replacing parts as necessary to
facilitate the repair and/or changeover of equipment to manufacture or
package various products. Also maintain manufacturing and/or packaging
equipment at required operating levels, through the performance of
preventative/predictive maintenance and major overhauls in order to meet
departmental production standards on equipment.

- Communicate clearly in English both verbally and written
- Wear appropriate required safety gear
- Attend work regularly and reliably
- Work overtime as scheduled or directed
- Operate computers to access/utilize company e-mail and to monitor equipment
- Demonstrate awareness of and compliance with all pertinent safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Operate mobile equipment in a safe manner
- Participate in work related training programs and adhere to Company Core Values
- Meet progression plan requirements for 30, 60, 90, 120 day orientation
- Install and align new equipment
- Gather/process data from multiple sources related to electrical/mechanical failures
- Service, troubleshoot and repair any problem of any electrical/mechanical nature
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned
- Utilize SAP to search for spare part location
- Work with outside vendors to troubleshoot/diagnose/correct equipment problems
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and VSDs
- Install /align pump coupling and v-belts, install bearings, install/connect motors/starters
- Maintain/replace/rebuild process/utility equipment (C-30 Drive spindle, Grinder UT 62 spindle, Labour pumps,
- Plan/assemble/install/maintain/troubleshoot/repair electrical fixtures and wiring
- Test/repair fire alarm systems, water and gas distribution, fuel oil, cooling tower and compressed air systems
- Remove and replace electric motor heaters and remove and install centrifuges
- Change and clean air conditioner coils and filters
- Measure vibrations and perform typical soldering, acetylene cutting and welding of an advanced nature
- Perform pipe fitting layout, installation and repair work
- Pack steam valves and install pump packing
- Remove and replace valves and inspect/troubleshoot pump systems
- Inspect and replace hoses, blowout panels
- Sight glass installation
- Use basic hand and power tools and shop equipment competently
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned
- Install and align new equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures repair mechanical failures
- Gather and process data from multiple sources related to electrical failures
- Verify job is complete and machine made whole before turn over
- Execute assigned work orders and accept a minimum of 60% of call-ins
- Continuously build a body of technical knowledge to master new skills
- Work with outside vendors to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct equipment problems
- Perform PLC 2 and 5 programming
- Calibrate and tune process control loops
- Analysis and/or troubleshooting using Allen-Bradley T-3, T-50, T-47 shop computer
- Execute work orders
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned
- Layout and complete one-man jobs
- Plan, assemble, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical fixtures and wiring
- Install and connect motors and starters
- Test and repair fire alarm systems, water distribution, fuel oil, gas distribution, cooling tower, and compressed
