The Chemist I performs routine chemical analyses of dietary supplement materials, including raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, using approved analytical methods. This role utilizes instrumentation such as HPLC, HPTLC, GC-FID, and ICP-MS to generate accurate and reliable results in a regulated laboratory environment. The Chemist I supports laboratory operations through analytical testing, sample preparation, maintenance of laboratory records, and adherence to established procedures. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage assigned workload while developing technical competency and maintaining compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, and cGMP requirements.

  • Perform and accurately document routine chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using approved analytical and wet chemistry methods. Utilize instrumentation including HPLC, HPTLC, UV-Vis, GC-FID, and ICP-MS.
  • Utilize approved methods and proper techniques to analyze for chemical compounds and constituents in powder and encapsulated material.
  • Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and laboratory solutions in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records, including calculations and supporting documentation, to ensure data integrity.

  • Assist with investigations of non-conformances under the guidance of senior staff or leadership.
  • Assist with method verifications and implementation of laboratory procedures as assigned.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Participate in training activities and continued development of technical skills.
  • Maintain consistent on-site attendance aligned with the assigned work schedule.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new techniques and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Successfully complete and maintain all required training, certifications, qualifications, and periodic requalifications necessary to support compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, and cGMP requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.

What Makes You The Right Fit

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Exposure to ISO/IEC 17025, AOAC, cGMP, or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Some technical writing and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g., MS office Suite).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a drug screen and a background check in accordance with IFF standards.
