Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily safety operations and assisting the EHS Manager in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment across IFAB facilities. This role helps coordinate safety programs, conduct inspections and training, track safety activities, and promote employee engagement in workplace safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential workplace hazards.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Coordinate and track employee safety training, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, and forklift safety.
- Maintain safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation.
- Help monitor OSHA compliance and support preparation for regulatory inspections or audits.
- Assist with reporting and tracking safety metrics, near misses, and incident trends.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety engagement activities.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions to improve workplace safety.
- Assist with PPE inventory management and ensure proper usage throughout the facility.
- Work closely with supervisors and employees to reinforce safe work practices daily.
- Support environmental and hazardous waste programs as directed by the EHS Manager.
- Assist with emergency response preparedness and safety drills.
- Help communicate safety updates, procedures, and expectations to employees.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or related safety experience preferred.
- 1–3 years of safety experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments preferred.
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures and PPE requirements preferred.
