Supervisor – Production
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overall performance of the assigned production area across all shifts. This role owns daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all processes while leading and developing the team.
This position has full disciplinary responsibility for all employees within the assigned area and is accountable for maintaining standards, enforcing policies, and driving consistent performance.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Accountability
Lead all personnel within the assigned production area across all shifts.
Maintain disciplinary responsibility, including coaching, documentation, and corrective actions.
Set clear expectations and hold Team Leads and operators accountable for performance and behavior.
Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and alignment.
Safety
Enforce all safety standards, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations.
Maintain a strong floor presence to identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
Ensure safe operation of all equipment and proper handling of materials.
Operations Execution
Own daily operations of the assigned production area.
Ensure production targets are met for output, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
Manage staffing and resources to maintain flow and prevent bottlenecks.
Escalate and remove production constraints quickly.
Quality
Ensure all products meet internal and customer quality requirements.
Drive containment and corrective actions for any quality issues.
Work closely with Quality to maintain process control and compliance.
People & Productivity
Ensure proper staffing, training, and skill coverage across all shifts.
Drive productivity by minimizing idle time and maximizing labor effectiveness.
Develop Team Leads and operators through coaching and training validation.
Promote accountability and ownership at all levels.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and eliminate waste in processes, layout, and workflows.
Lead and support initiatives to improve efficiency, labor absorption, and throughput.
Sustain TPM, 5S, and standard work.
Communication & Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for the assigned production area.
Coordinate with upstream and downstream areas to maintain material flow.
Communicate performance, issues, and priorities clearly to leadership and the team.
Key Expectations
Own area performance across all shifts.
Maintain strong, consistent floor presence.
Enforce standards and policies without exception.
Balance people leadership with operational execution.
