Responsibilities
Sourcing & Procurement
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
- Lead sourcing and procurement strategy in collaboration with sales management to optimize cost, lead time and quality
- Oversee supplier performance and initiatives that lead to continuous improvement in results
Scheduling
- Provide oversight for production scheduling methods utilizing demand forecasts and capacity constraints
- Optimize production flow by coordinating material availability and production timelines
- Ensure timely delivery of material to meet customer demands
- Own and implement the master scheduling function, including rough cut capacity planning, Supply Review S&OP step, and order confirmation process
- Drive the implementation and execution of the S&OP process on the supply side, with the support of the Director of Operations
Material Planning Optimization
- Define strategies to optimize material planning utilizing appropriate manufacturing strategies
- Analyze demand patterns and adjust procurement plans accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with material availability
Inventory Management
- Create and manage inventory optimization strategies to achieve target inventory turns while maintaining customer on-time delivery
Supplier Relationship Management
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and consistent deliveries
- Evaluate supplier performance, address issues, and drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate with suppliers on cost reduction initiatives
Logistics and Supply Chain Optimization
- Drive initiatives that will improve material flow from receiving to production and overall material movement through outbound shipping
- Participate in strategic planning discussions related to production capacity, lead times, and risk management
- Drive long-term supply chain optimization efforts
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field
- Relevant functional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, APICS CPI
- Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) is preferred
- Excellent understanding of supply chain processes and relevant software (ERP systems).
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MRP systems and advanced planning tools
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Experience in an electrical products manufacturing environment is advantageous
- Sourcing experience related to both electrical and mechanical components is preferred
