Key Responsibilities
Banking & General Ledger
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for company bank accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
- Create and maintain monthly GL workbooks reconciling key GL accounts
- Review/Approve AP check runs
- Manage intercompany reconciliation
- Help create a monthly close process
- Record customer payments and assist with reconciling cash receipts.
- Apply payments to the appropriate customer accounts and projects in the accounting system.
- Assist with monitoring deposits and investigating discrepancies in payment allocations.
- Approve ACH and Positive pay exception
- Help with union benefit payments
- Assist in maintaining accurate job cost records within the accounting system.
- Support project managers and accounting staff with expense coding and project cost tracking.
- Help review labor and overhead allocations for accuracy.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including tracking asset purchases and disposals.
- Reconciling the asset register to the GL accounts

- Assist with preparing recurring and ad-hoc financial and operational reports, including:
- Job status and historical experience reports
- Backlog reporting
- Prepare a Cash position and LOC Memo
- Monthly financial statement support schedules

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience or relevant internship experience preferred.
- Exposure to accounting software or ERP systems preferred (Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or similar).
- Interest in construction accounting, job costing, and project-based financial management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with accounting staff and project teams.
