We are seeking a VDC Specialist to join our VDC team. This position is primarily based out of our office in Granite City, IL and will provide both remote and onsite technical support for all active projects. Our ideal candidate for this role is someone with 3 years of experience in CAD and a strong expertise in scanning and/or surveying, with a particular focus on layout. This role is crucial to our Field Technology Department, contributing to the development of layout standards and researching innovative layout and technology solutions. This candidate will bring a strong sense of leadership, direction, and a commitment to optimizing project layouts.
Primary responsibilities for iENG’s VDC Specialist include:
- Produce deliverables including spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, hanger maps, etc.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of sheet metal systems within the overall building model.
- Sheet metal design and modeling based off details, Flow Diagrams, and existing models.
- Provide technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.
- Hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication.
- Provide support to the field and shop through the life of the project.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project specifications and standards.
Primary qualifications for iENG’s VDC Specialist include:
- An associate degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
- Proficient with REVIT, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Teams and Planner. Overall strong computer skills are expected.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical duct design, VDC, or related field.
- Willing to travel on an as needed basis.
- Ability to work within an environment with deadlines, and when tasked with multiple duties, your attention to detail stays consistent.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well with both a team and independently with minimal supervision. Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to interpret and identify potential problems or risks and come up with creative solutions.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
