- Position Summary:***As a Sheet Metal Fabricator specializing in
assembly of various sheet metal components used in the construction of
custom trailers. Your role will involve interpreting design blueprints,
selecting appropriate materials, utilizing specialized equipment, and
ensuring the highest quality standards in the fabrication process.
This work environment is dynamic and versatile in nature, where
employees are expected to wear multiple hats and handle a variety of
tasks. This role requires a high level of adaptability, as daily tasks
and priorities may shift based on the evolving needs of the day.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review and interpret detailed design blueprints and specifications
- Select appropriate sheet metal materials based on project
and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform tasks in sanding, grinding and polishing surfaces to prepare
- Utilize cutting tools such as shears to accurately cut and shape
- Employ various forming and bending techniques, including press
configurations.
- Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated components to verify
standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies encountered
necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, production managers, and
ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk
- All other duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 - 2 years of experience as
- Must demonstrate a consistent work history, along with strong verbal
- Must be able to display mechanical aptitude and use basic hand tools
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings,
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, cutting techniques, and
- Familiarity with a range of fabrication equipment, ncluding shears,
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality
- Ensure compliance with a safety mindset.
- Perform welding and joining operations to assemble sheet metal
ensuring structural integrity and precision.
- Certification or training in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or a
- Sheet metal experience in custom trailer, construction or a related
- Brake press and manual brake experience.
- Hydraulics experience.
- 12-volt wiring experience.
- Glass installation experience.
- Plumbing experience.
