POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping Material Handler receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, and merchandise. Responsible for the transportation of all material goods received to correct location in a safe and quick manner. The Shipping Material Handler compiles stock records in the warehouse, stockroom and storage yard and keeps accurate records of materials received and transported.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
- Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Fills orders or issues supplies from stock and moves or transports material throughout the company
- Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock and maintains records
- Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
- Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
- Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- Makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
- Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
- Maintains shipping logs and shipping bills needed by other departments
Education:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- One to three months experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Fork Lift driving experience preferred
- N/A
- Fork Lift License; or the ability to obtain license if hired
- Must have clean driving record
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
