What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector (QC Inspector)-2nd Shift position at IEA, LLC?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Writes CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs in PC-DMIS and verifies dimensional layouts according to blueprints.
- Completes internal and external PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) according to customer specifications.
- Performs technical inspections/measurements of products using equipment, requiring exacting tolerances, using equipment such as CMM, comparator, surface finish test equipment and related.
- Checks first piece-part layout and tooling to tool print and customer part drawings.
- Supplies inspection data to engineering, manufacturing and quality areas, and technical personnel at the customer's site.
- Adheres to ISO Quality procedures.
- Must be cable of performing 100% dimensional inspections.
- Performs lay-out, 1st Place, In Process, and Final Inspections.
- Very Strong background in GD&T and ability to read and understand complex machining drawings and CAD Models.
- Use precision inspection measuring devices.
- Operates and programs CMM. Use Calipers, Micrometers, pin gages, drip indicators, part specific verification, tools and SolidWorks.
- Communicate with customer/vendor quality and engineering to achieve print compliant parts and components.
- Reviews work orders (written or verbal) and determines specific inspection requirements/needs.
- Conducts inspections and tests (visual, dimensional, content, etc) on incoming components and materials.
- Identifies, quarantines and documents non-conforming parts or materials detected during incoming, WIP, or final inspection activities.
- Verifies and identifies (tags) incoming components/materials for inventory purposes.
- Prepares and processes inspection documents (packets, radiator id tags, etc) for IEA products.
- Maintains all inspection or audit of IEA finished goods and ship-loose components to ensure conformance with order.
- Maintains all inspection records relating to individual inspection activities.
- Makes recommendations to IEA Management for ordering, product or other changes in accordance with Company and customer requirements and specifications.
- Coordinates inspection activities with other IEA production activities.
- Cleans and maintains all assigned areas and equipment.
- Works in a safer manner at all times.

Physical Demands:
- Maximum lifting requirements (pounds): 75 (infrequently), 50 (occasionally), 25 (frequently).
- Maximum moving requirements (pounds): 150 (with assistance).
- Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting upper body, or climbing.
- Working at heights off the ground off the ground: 25 feet.
- Vision Requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception.
Work Environment:
- Work location(s): Metal fabrication/assembly shop; plant grounds, shop office with computer.
- Exposure: Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment, inclement weather conditions.
- Personal Protective Requirement: Safety glasses, safety shoes (ANSI), Hardhat, gloves, and ear protection as necessary. Additional equipment per location requirements.
Position Requirments:
- Ability to read and understand job requirements and material specifications, shipping/receiving documents, shop drawings, and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of Excel and using ERP system.
- Working knowledge of properties and composition of radiator materials, structural metals and related components (OJT)
- Ability to communicate (oral/written) and work effectively with others.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with other IEA employees in the performance of inspections duties.
- Ability to plan and organize work and conduct inspection activities on a thorough and consistent basis.
- Working knowledge of radiator manufacturing - parts, materials and methods.
- Skill in using maintaining appropriate inspection tools and equipment including tape measure, calipers, and other various gages.
- Experience: two or more years hands-on CMM programming on the job. Two or more years of Quality Control related manufacturing experience.
- Education: CMM PC-DMIS formal training is preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses: Forklift Operator Certification is desirable
IEA manufactures large scale radiators/ heat transfer units. We are an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) making radiators with copper cores and steel frames through metal fabrication, welding, heavy assembly with pneumatic hand tools, QC/ ISO, material handling and use of hoists and cranes.
Our second shift is from Monday through Thursday: 1:30pm - 12:00am
Overtime is worked on Friday and Saturday
