Job Summary
We’re looking for a General Manager who can move effortlessly between espresso shots and Syrah pours, spreadsheets and streaming queues, team huddles and tasting flights. Our coffee shop–wine bar hybrid is equal parts neighborhood living room, creative studio, and late‑night hideout—and we need a ringmaster who loves all three.
You’ll be the heartbeat of the space: champion of hospitality, leader of a small‑but‑mighty crew, and curator of vibes from 7 a.m. lattes to late‑night Cab Franc. You geek out on both workflow and atmosphere, can talk single‑origin and skin‑contact in the same sentence, and genuinely enjoy making people feel like regulars on their very first visit. This is a chance to help build systems from the ground up, put “opening GM” on your résumé, and grow with the concept through a performance‑based bonus program tied to results.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth, on‑time operations.
- Create and adjust weekly schedules based on traffic patterns, labor targets, and coverage needs.
- Monitor bar flow at the coffee station, dirty soda line, and self‑serve wine wall, resolving bottlenecks in real time.
- Ensure all recipes, build guides, and portion standards are followed consistently.
- Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory for coffee, syrups, sodas, wine, and consumables.
- Track waste and implement systems to reduce product loss and over‑portioning.
- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS usage, discounts, comps, and end‑of‑day reports.
- Monitor key metrics (sales by daypart, labor %, product mix, speed of service) and adjust operations accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment upkeep and service calls, documenting issues and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations, including daily checklists and logs.
- Implement and refine SOPs for prep, service, cleaning, and shift handoffs.
Preferred Experience
- 2–4 years in a quick‑service, café, bar, or fast‑casual environment, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role. Direct coffee experience preferred.
- Hands‑on experience managing day‑to‑day operations: scheduling, inventory, ordering, cash handling, and shift oversight.
- Proven track record using a POS system and basic reporting tools to monitor sales, labor, and product mix.
- Experience creating or following SOPs for prep, service, cleaning, and opening/closing.
- Background with beverage‑focused concepts (coffee, bar, or self‑serve systems) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading and training small teams (approximately 4–10 people) in a fast‑paced setting.
Schedule
- On‑site role on Central Avenue in Saint Petersburg, FL.
- Mix of opening and closing shifts, including weekends and evenings.
