Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including box trucks and
drivers to deliver packages efficiently along assigned routes - Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or pallet jacks, adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling standards
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and other safety protocols during all driving and delivery activities
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures, and document delivery status accurately for each shipment
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal operation
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients, answering questions, and addressing concerns politely
- Follow route plans precisely while adapting to traffic or route changes to meet delivery deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route driving and moving goods efficiently
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures and manual handling techniques
- Demonstrated ability to operate commercial vehicles such as box trucks with manual transmission safely
- Familiarity with heavy lifting, safe lifting practices, forklift operation, pallet jacks, and weight handling in the workplace
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and transportation safety standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or recipients
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time effectively during busy delivery schedules
Pay: $18.40 - $24.60 per hour
