Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at IDLE HOUR CLUB in Macon, GA. This role supports the daily operations of the club, including supervising staff across dining, events, and member services to ensure consistent, high-quality experiences. The Assistant Manager helps coordinate schedules, oversees opening and closing procedures, and ensures that facilities and equipment are well maintained. This role reports to the Clubhouse Manager to help implement policies, respond to member feedback, and support special events and functions. The Assistant Manager also assists with basic administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, inventory checks, and vendor coordination while modeling a professional and service-oriented approach.
Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, private club, restaurant, or similar member- or guest-focused environment.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and support diverse front-of-house and/or operations staff.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with members, guests, and team members.
- Comfort with basic administrative tasks, including scheduling, inventory checks, and use of point-of-sale or club management systems (currently JONAS).
- Commitment to excellent customer service and a professional, courteous attitude at all times.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on club needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in hospitality or business is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in hospitality or service industries is preferred.
- The Club will provide relocation assistance up to $3,500, which will be forgiven after 12 months of employment
