What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Drafter/Project Coordinator/Fabricator position at IDF STUDIO SCENERY INC?
Responsibilities:
- read/understand blueprints, sketches
- create fabrication drawings from client designs
- work with clients on timeline, materials, changes
- generate CNC files
- work with fabrication team getting projects built, materials ordered, timelines realized and met
- person must be effective under tight deadlines and design/fabrication changes
Skills:
- Vectorworks Spotlight (primary), Sketchup, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD
- Design, Fabrication, Architectural understanding
- Wood fabrication
- Experience in power tools including table saw, chop saw, routers
- Mechanically inclined and problem solver
- Willingness for long hours due to job specific timelines
- Communication
Experience:
- Vectorworks (Spotlight) 3 years
- Drafting/Design 3 years
- Wood fabrication 3 years
- Metal fabrication - knowledge
- Acrylic Fabrication - knowledge
- Technical Director
- Entertainment industry a plus
Education:
- High School or Equivalent
- CAD Trade School or Equivalent a plus
