Quality Assurance Inspector - 2nd shift

IDD Aerospace is a subsidiary of the Safran Group a multi-Billion dollar company with several companies in the Puget Sound area and around the United States. IDD designs and manufactures the light plates used on the flight deck of aircraft.

We are looking for a Quality Inspectors to join our team! We offer excellent benefits and opportunities for growth. Second shift works from 2:30pm - 11pm.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for conducting final acceptance and in-process tests and inspections on a variety of products.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviews purchase orders, customer documents, engineering drawings/specifications and process documentation in preparation for conducting quality conformance inspections and tests.

2. Inspects and tests products according to Acceptance Test Procedures and other criteria using inspection equipment such as calipers, radius gauges, etc.

3. Performs cosmetic and other qualitative inspections per internal and external workmanship standards.

4. Collects and records inspection and test data; generates reports of inspection and test results.

5. Prepares non-conformance tags as required to achieve corrective actions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent. Some college or vocational courses in Quality Assurance is a plus.
• Two (2) years minimum of inspection experience. Experience in aerospace is strongly preferred. First Article Inspection experience is a plus.
• Position is of advanced complexity requiring training and previous experience in the use of a large variety of inspection tools including dimensional measuring equipment, multi-meters, power supplies, hipot and resistance testers and other tools.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings to make independent determinations of product conformance.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
• Basic computer skills required to enter data and information using a variety of software programs for preparing test reports, certifications and other forms of documentation and reports-should have intermediate Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Word skills.
• Industry certifications in soldering (J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610) and wire harnessing (IPC-A-620) or equivalent strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Photometric inspection requires periods of up to two (2) hours in an unlit or dimly lit room.
• Inspection activities may entail extended periods of sitting or standing.
• Work involves electronic test equipment with high voltage and care must be exercised to avoid electrical shock.
• Requires occasional unplanned periods of overtime.

ACCOUNTABILITY

• Responsibility: Work is performed with minimal supervision and some latitude and discretion applies in interpreting quality system procedures.
• Decision Making: Responsible for determining product compliance with customers’ requirements.

OTHER

This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
