Job Description
Teach General Education and other related courses within the Technical General Education Program, as well as collaborate with other programs and departments within the College of Technology as needed.
This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Teach General Education courses, including ENGL 1101/1101P, ENGL 1102, and COMM 1101, as well as other courses, such as TGE 0158, 0159, 1150, and/or 1257 as the need arises.- Design, implement, and evaluate curricula for teaching writing, communication, and related subjects in various technical settings.
- Attend program, department, and college meetings and activities as assigned.
- Participate in department, college, and university-level service as workload allows.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least a Master's degree in English, Communication, or closely-related field.
- At least one year experience teaching First Year Composition and developmental writing courses.
- Demonstrated proficiency in instructional technology.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years teaching experience in postsecondary setting.
- At least three years teaching experience with at-risk/non-traditional students.
- At least three years work experience in non-educational setting.
- Experience in teaching in online or hybrid settings should be emphasized in application materials.
- Individuals who have also completed a minor or major in a social science discipline are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given preferred status.
- Preference will be assigned to individuals with educational credentials that prioritize rhetoric and composition and/or technical writing.
Additional Information

This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received on or before April 19, 2026. Salary will be between $50,000 and $52,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
