Job Description

Idaho State University school psychology program is the only school psychology program in Idaho. Thus, school psychology faculty are instrumental in shaping the practice of school psychology in Idaho. This position will have teaching, research and scholarship, and service responsibilities in the Master and Educational Specialist programs in School Psychology. This position also participates in advising, recruiting and other student and College support functions.

The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester including practicum seminar/supervision, research/scholarship, and service responsibilities (e.g., supporting candidates’ portfolio development and defense) in the School Psychology Program. Also, he or she will participate in advising, recruiting, and performing other college support functions. Due to an ongoing multiple year grant, there is potential for summer and grant related work.

Currently there are only two faculty members serving in the School Psychology Program. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) accreditation board recommended three full-time faculty members for each accredited school psychology program. Thus, as a NASP fully approved unit, there is an urgent need to recruit a new faculty member to serve our Master’s and Educational Specialist programs in School Psychology.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Also, he or she will participate in advising, recruiting, and performing other college support functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in School Psychology or related field (ABD will be considered)
• Ability to teach school psychology courses
• Ability to advise graduate students and guide student research projects
• Strong written and verbal skills
• A record of scholarly accomplishment commensurate with levels

• Experience teaching school psychology related courses (e.g., psycho-diagnosis, legal and ethical issues in school psychology, consultation in schools, practicum in school psychology)
• Advise graduate students and guide student research projects
• Experience teaching in on-line, distance, or virtual environments
• Content-area certification
• Record of scholarly productivity and grant submission/grant work

Salary will be between $66,000 - $69,000 at the Assistant Professor level and $69,000 -$73,000 at the Associate Professor level, per year, commensurate with education and experience.
