The Department of Energy is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Executive Service (SES) professional to take on the role of Manager at the Idaho Cleanup Project (ES-340). The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Idaho Cleanup Project and its associated activities, ensuring operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Responsibilities:
As the Manager, Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP), you will:- Oversee operations and influence Department of Energy (DOE) wide policy and planning decisions. Direct activities and develop strategic plans based on long-term assessments. Set standards for internal controls and evaluate policy, program, and project viability.
- Deliver executive-level expertise and strategic direction for the overall administration of the Office of Environmental Management (EM) ICP mission. Oversee ICP operations, which include developing and configuring work breakdown structures and resource-loaded schedules, integrating systems and managing support contracts, preparing integrated monthly reports, tracking action items, and issuing programmatic budget guidance. Allocate financial and personnel resources to meet mission goals, identify areas for major improvement, and create and implement action plans.
- Direct the execution of Departmental policies, oversee planning, and review project management strategies. Develop standards and determine priorities for all ICP planning, budgeting, financial control, and forecasting methods as agreed with DOE-EM. Ensure smooth coordination of responsibilities and encourage stakeholder participation in decision-making, working together with DOE-EM.
- Oversee both technical and administrative operations of subordinate organizations led by SES or GS-15 (or equivalent) personnel, resolving issues that arise from the unique arrangements between these groups.
- Coordinate with the Nuclear Energy, Idaho Manager (NE-ID) on transferring facilities and materials between EM and Idaho National Laboratory (INL). The ICP Manager oversees transitions to support both cleanup and INL missions.
- Collaborate with the NE-ID Manager to deliver unified communication of DOE activities at the Idaho site to local communities, regulatory agencies, tribal representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Formulate policy recommendations and establish long-term compliance requirements to ensure the ICP mission is carried out in an environmentally sound, safe, and compliant manner with all relevant environment, safety, and health directives.
- Negotiate agreements and authorize conditions, timelines, and procedures to collaboratively oversee project contracts that facilitate the safe, cost-effective, and timely completion of environmental remediation, restoration, and hazardous and nuclear waste management programs. These programs involve high-level radioactive waste, low-level and transuranic radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, contaminated buildings and sites, as well as special nuclear material.
