What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator Intern (Athol) position at Idaho Forest Group?
Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Fabricator Intern to join our Central Fab Team during Summer 2026.
Job Summary:
The Fabrication Intern will be empowered with assignments that provide them with experience and significant opportunities for learning.
Essential Functions:
- Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs
- Assist with a wide range of tasks including; welding, cutting, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing of various types of equipment
- Assist with the dismantle and re-assembly on various types of equipment for modifications or upgrades
- Assist with trouble shooting or inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of issue or other problems
- Keep working areas clean
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or have recently graduated with a relevant certificate
- Ability to work at varying heights
- Assist with operating of cranes and/or rigging experience
- Knowledge of industrial machinery and processes
- High School Diploma or GED (or willingness to quickly obtain one as a condition of employment)
- Valid Driver’s License is highly preferred
- Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
- Having housing and transportation, none will be provided
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.

Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
